Finally, the much-awaited ‘Storage Management Tool‘ has been added to WhatsApp. The popular short messaging platform officially announced this feature in a tweet post this morning. This storage management tool or option will make it easier to view or delete junk files from WhatsApp. Users will get updates from time to time this week. Supposedly, this new option has been rolled out for Android and iOS users around the world.
A couple of months ago, WABetaInfo announced this new feature. WhatsApp has been working on this new storage management option for several days now. A few days ago, users of the beta version of WhatsApp had the opportunity to use this feature. But this time it is going to be available to all users. This new option can be accessed from the ‘Manage storage’ tab in the ‘Storage and data’ section of WhatsApp’s settings.
Opening that tab will bring up a new storage bar at the top of the screen, similar to the phone’s normal memory storage, highlighting how much memory apps and other items are using and how much storage space is left. Again users will see them at a glance based on the size of the file. Even when your storage is full, WhatsApp will give a warning notification to the user. There will also be an option to preview the selected files before deleting them.

In addition, the Storage Management Tool option allows users to view and delete videos, photos, etc. that have been forwarded multiple times. Again, files larger than 5 MB can be viewed separately and each chat can be viewed in how much space. By clicking on Chat from that tab, users can view or delete text messages, photos, GIFs, videos, etc. As a result, this option will also save the storage of your phone.
