Google’s text messaging platform Google Messages has recently added a number of new features. One of them is the feature of scheduling messages. With this, you can schedule any message to be sent later in advance. The message will automatically go to the specified number at the specified time. The Google Messages app also has the feature to split different messages into different categories. This will keep your inbox more organized. New features have not yet been introduced for all users. However, some users have started getting these features.
How to schedule a message?
It is very easy to schedule messages in Google Messages. On Twitter, Sai Reddy (besaireddy) shared some screenshots of this new feature. For this, after typing the message, you have to press and hold the send button. Then comes the option to schedule a new message. There will be three default time sets: “7 pm today,” “9 pm tonight,” or “8 am tomorrow.” Users can choose one of these times or set the time of their choice.
Suppose you want to change the time of a pre-set message or send it to another day, then you can reset the time and date. After setting, press the ‘save’ button again and it will be saved. If you want to change the message you want to send, just touch the message and a pop-up menu will appear. Here you will find the option to update the message. You can even delete it if you want. However, this feature has not yet been rolled out to all users. Some users have got this feature. The code for this feature is also included in the Google Messages APK file.
In addition to scheduling messages, Google Messages has recently added a number of features, one of which is to split messages into different categories. These categories include Personal, Transaction, OTP, Offer etc. Users can enable or disable this feature if they wish. However, this feature is not available to everyone now. Only selected users get this feature. There is also another new feature, which is the selection of the subject of the message. Now before sending a message, you can write the subject of the message if you want. This can be seen above the message you sent. For this you have to press and hold the ‘Send’ button. Then the ‘Subject’ option will be available.
